When I dropped off recycling at Settler's Park,  I decided to walk from the ballfields to the cemetary.  The old asphalt track runs parallel to the highway (so the noise is really annoying) but has a nice forest and often  interesting critters.  Merlin said it heard a red-eyed vireo, a bird I've never captured, until today, but only it's belly.  I also saw a swallowtail butterfly and lots of frog spawn, tadpoles (kd!), and a few jumping frogs.

One of those gorgeous days you just can't help but be happy to be alive.

As I was leaving the park, I heard birds over in the area where they recycle the big things like appliances.  Here I met Charles looking through the tires.  He lives in Geauga County and doesn't like leaving it.  He gets nervous when he does.  He lives on 5 acres and feeds 150 pounds (!!!) of bird seed every month.  We covered a lot of territory in our 5+ minute conversation.  Yes, I really was having an A- day (his was a B to leave room for improvement) because I had coffee with Jenny in the morning.  It's always a gift to spend time with her. We got our coffees at Heartwood then sat in the gazebo in the triangle.
