Event
Just before lunch, I headed towards Kings Cross for an event hosted by Google on generative AI. It was a really interesting conference with a number of speakers from businesses that are already using some version of AI in their company, including a case study from Formaula-e. The message across the day was consistent: the pace of change is great, and you need to move fast to keep up.
As you might imagine from one of the large tech companies, the event was well organised in a well-resourced part of their building, and they laid on a nice amount of refreshments. I was with a colleague, who had unfortunately hurt his back and was obviously in pain during the seating portions of the day. Standing for Google's hospitality and later in the bar just next to the office might have helped. We don't get to talk much about general work matters, as we are always in a meeting for some project we are involved with, so it was nice just to chat over a few drinks. And it didn't go on too late.
I left the conference feeling energised and excited about the possibilities of things we could be doing. I wonder when the first chance to implement them will come. I don't know when that is.
