I used up the remaining avocado for avocado on toast for us both this morning. Then we pottered around the flat. When we planned the weekend, we decided we did not want to arrive home too late, so we needed to leave just after 2pm to make the FastCat and the train. This always means Sunday mornings can feel a bit wasted. I like not doing much. I don't think the Isle of Wight should be busy and stressful.

Currently, the FastCat is docking in a slightly unusual place while some work is done to the regular disembarkation point. The gangway is narrower on the temporary route, and it's hard when you are stuck behind people with prams, luggage or, generally, just slow-moving because the interchange to the train is short. PY ran ahead but I got caught behind a pram. It's a good job the crossing was smooth and quick and we had the full 8 minutes. We were on the train with no problem and found a nice seat towards the front. It's never busy departing Portsmouth Harbour but fills up as we head towards London. Today, the route took the longer tracks via Eastleigh, and it was a short train, so as we approached Clapham Junction, it was very full.

We were home at about 7pm, including a detour via the Co-op to pick up some milk and things for the evening.
