We stayed around the apartment, packing and tidying, until noon, when we needed to vacate the place. We left our luggage in the room next to reception and walked toward Puerto del Carmen. We had no fixed plan but had about five hours to kill. The weather was warm, and the skies were blue, so it was a leisurely walk. Eventually, we made it as far as the trattoria that was supposed to be last night's dinner and agreed that it would be a good lunch spot. We were a bit early and killed 45 minutes in a bar a little bit further up the road. The bar staff took exception to us moving a few chairs around, which seemed odd, given how empty it was; while we were drinking our beers, another group sat down and tried to move some chairs to make a bigger table, and again, the staff were unhappy. It was a very odd reaction. We only stayed long enough for a beer, although we moved tables when the blue skies disappeared for a short period and there was a light shower.
The pizza for lunch was delicious, and we enjoyed it. After lunch, it was back to the resort via the Spar to buy a Spanish birthday card. We changed in the luggage room and asked reception to call a taxi. We were deposited at the airport just before 5pm, and there was almost no queue for business check-in. We were through security - and the long walk through the duty-free - within fifteen minutes. However, there was a queue for the business lounge, which had a one-in, one-out policy. PY and Mark got in first, while Rob and I had to wait for another couple of people to leave. Eventually, inside, we managed to hover at just the right moment to secure a table of four as the passengers sat at it, collected their belongings and left.
