Lofou

A beautiful sunny day, really warm and calm.  There was some clouds in the mountains, as expected.

Up early, the tour bus picked us up after breakfast.  A day exploring some of the mountain regions.  First stop was at Aphrodite's beach, absolutely stunning and must make it back there.  The next stop was at the beautiful Old village of Lofou.  Onwards to the Millomeris waterfall, again a stunning place.  Stopped of at Lambouri Winery for some wine tasting, then on to the old village of Omodos, where we had lunch and a couple of free hours to explore.  Back to the hotel this evening, a lovely meal and a few drams. 

A couple of tours booked to get a grasp of what's out there around Cyprus, before the hired car arrives next week.  I was not disappointed seeing the traditional life, villages and scenery, all absolutely stunning.  My favourite place today was the old village of Lofou.  Quite a large village of homes, but only 180 residents, most homes owned by family in the towns and cities.  The streets were full of character, old charming buildings, and very quiet, which is a shame for the village.  We stopped off for a cuppa, definitely had a relaxed vibe in the place.  This is some old buildings at the end of the main street, Lofou, Cyprus.
