All kinds of . . . . . transport
Today began misty, as seems to be normal! The forecast said it would get better later so we believed it and set off on the first day of our 3-day 'GoExplore' card. We caught the steam engine at the local station at Colby, where we're staying, and chugged our way into Douglas. A lovely ride, though once or twice it was so shuggly that I'm surprised we stayed on the track!
We walked a fair way up the very long promenade and climbed on board the horse tram, which clopped its way further up the prom - my Blip today. We had a picnic lunch and then climbed aboard the Electric Railway, which took us further north to Laxey, of the Wheel fame.
Leaving a visit to the wheel for later we changed to the Snaefell Railway, which took us almost to the summit of said mountain, where we enjoyed a cake and cuppa before catching the train back down. Rather hazy up top, so the views weren't that good, but by the time we got down the sun was out and pretty warm.
We visited the Laxey Wheel - quite amazing and my extra today.
Back at sea level we returned to Douglas on the Electric Railway and then caught the bus back to the house. A lovely day all round - and we sat outside with a Pimms and then dinner.
