Canal Cycle

At 11am we met up with our friends, Steve & Julia, from the Costswolds at a small car park in Newport (South Wales, UK) to cycle along the canal to Cwmcarn some nine miles away. We enjoyed a coffee sat outside in the sunshine along with other cyclists, and a black tit nesting inside a table that the staff had then taped off. Great watching it back and forth with worms to feed the chicks inside the solid 'parasol' hole!

It brought back memories from about 30 years ago when I used to run parts of the canal regularly, and also cycle it about 5am to get to work and sometimes as late as 10pm to get home, when I lived in newport.  Where did that time go?!

This week's W-I-D-E on Wednesday Challenge theme is 'landscape' and the photo' I took from the day I like best is sheep and trees reflecting in the canal as we cycled the Risca section.
