Off the Wagon

"Hi. My name's Hobbs and I am a (gulp) recovering audiophile". Make no mistake. This is a potentially serious condition in which sufferers (in their quest for the "perfect sound") regularly go quite insane. Their lives consist of Hi Fi shows, Hi Fi showrooms, endless research, endless specification sheets and endless pieces of equipment. Some of them actually listen to music. 

When I was young, I was one of those ... until I saw the light. I still like surround sound movies and jazz music however. The Q Acoustic 3010i  in this blip (and its partner) represent my first audio equipment purchase in a long time. They replace a very old, (basically worn out) pair of 1990s Realistic (Tandy) Optimus 7s. 

Question is, will I slide off the wagon still further .. new amplifier, new turntable, new "streamer" (never mind), new "DAC" (don't ask) or new one inch thick speaker cables?  My wallet has been impounded. I am allowed one audio vlog YouTube video a week. I MIGHT make it. You never know.
