The gas man cometh...

...and now we have yellow fences guarding a hole outside our back door...

Roy has a very good "nose", and he's thought for a while that he could detect a whiff of gas near our back door and near the wall at the bottom of the drive. Difficult to pinpoint, as the flue is also close... but yesterday he decided he'd call out the gas van "just in case". One van turned up within the hour, and they have been here in force ever since!

There's no problem inside the house but it is an ageing mains supply, and the more they have investigated the more they've found. We're now up to three significant leaks in the cul de sac, and more holes to be dug. The night shift are arriving soon...
