Blackbird egg?

I found this poor little egg underneath the hedge where I was weeding, just on the soil. I think it’s a blackbird egg which makes sense as they make nests in this laurel hedge. We only seem to see jays in the garden at nesting times though, and there was one hanging around yesterday.
