Abstract Thursday - Repetition
There is usually some repetition to my Thursday mornings, in that I’m normally to be found in church and then at the local bistro for coffee and animated chat. I love that there are certain anchor points in my week like this, which I find very grounding.
My blip is all about repetition, because it’s part of a blanket which my late Mum crocheted for me. I now regret not getting her to teach me how to crochet, as I think there’s something very comforting about the repetitiveness of doing it, and the regular patterns made by the stitches in crochet and knitting are satisfying to look at too. The blanket also has pink and cream stripes, but I found some software to fiddle about with the colours and just feature the green, with everything else monochrome. I think this accentuates the repetition of the stitches. I do enjoy a bit of faffing!
An afternoon of more form-filling - this time a declaration form and an application for a DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) in order to be properly certified to work as part of our church’s pastoral care team, which is just starting up. This is a very necessary check, as our work may involve contact with vulnerable adults and children. We will also need to undergo some Safeguarding training.
Many thanks to Ingeborg for hosting Abstract Thursday, with this week’s optional theme of ‘Repetition’.
