First fire

That's it - it's now officially winter in my world!  Too cool last night so decided that tonight would be the night........brought in the first lot of firewood, stacked a mini trailer-load outside the back door, rearranged the furniture a little then, pretty much on sunset, in went the match that signalled the start of another winter.  Not that today actually felt very cold - quite the opposite in fact........very quick drying time for the washing.  But as we know, when the sun goes down on a clear day it's like flicking the heater switch off so it cools off very quickly.  I wasn't the only one to appreciate the warmth - Minnie was quick to pick the prime position and stake her claim on the hearth, right in front of the fire.  I reckon there's only about 10 weeks of 'real' winter to have to contend with in these parts so here beginneth the countdown to August!
