Going up in the world

First of all I would like to thank you all for your messages of support and good will for my son, it was very much appreciated, although I have never met any of you we were deeply touched by your messages of goodwill, I was reading him some of your kind comments when he was in hospital.

He was discharged at lunchtime today, almost 3 days to the minute after being admitted, although he is still in a lot of pain he was desperate to come home.
The surgeon was very pleased with how the wound is healing and there does not seem to be any sign of infection.

We have to return to the hospital on Tuesday morning to hopefully get the final all clear then we can head off to France for a much deserved rest for all of us.
