Today's the day ....................... to teem

The pond is absolutely over-flowing with life this year.

We had to severely hack back the water mint that was threatening to take over the world - but once that had been done, all sorts of plants had a chance to make a go of it.  And, along with the plants, we seem to have loads of fish.  How they managed to survive the winter when the pond froze over several times, I'm not quite sure!  And they're obviously managing to find enough food to keep them going, because we have never fed them at all.

It's now time for the irises to appear in all their glory - and, of course, the kingfisher continues to keep an eye on things, in his usual inscrutable way ........................
