Rutted
The streets bear the evidence of the storms brought by Cyclone Hidaya, even though Dar es Salaam was much less directly affected than everyone had originally feared. For a few hundred kilometres south of Dar es Salaam, and on some low-lying islands, there is much more chaos including lost bridges, flooded fields and general disruption. Tumbling in a bajaj (tuk-tuk) through watery rutted streets is pretty typical of most mornings in Dar es Salaam, to be honest.
