South Pond, Midhurst
Part of the route into Midhurst when we walk in, as we did this afternoon to recover from the tennis. So emotional (and the wrong woman won, though have to admit she was good) that we needed exercise followed by tea and millionaire's shortbread for consolation.
And we have to go through it all again tomorrow, hopefully with a more favourable result.
This is the South Pond in Midhurst which this year has seen the birth of goslings. I love geese, especially Canada geese, but my gosh, they make such a mess. The pond is fed by two streams which were once the boundaries of Saxon settlements, and now they join together in one stream which forms the boundary of old Midhurst and West Lavington. Just behind me as I took this is the Spread Eagle hotel, subject of a recent blip.
