Spiritual Art of India in Dance.

This afternoon we went to the Mela Festival weekend on Parker's Piece, Cambridge. Mela is a Sanskrit word meaning gathering. There were many things to keep the children busy, including Maypole dancing, then I watched the various forms of dance by several groups. The Indian dancers were very good, including quite young children. I was especially impressed by the grace of this dancer and the beautiful hand movements as she performed her traditional dances. There were several bands playing on stage and the park was full of people enjoying summer at last. It is on again tomorrow with more music and dancing, also a funfair. I am hoping to visit again.
