Dear O'H dear, Lovely Tea Jenny & The Mini Princesses,

The Prince and I got our bikes out for the first time this year.

It was a lovely sunny day so we decided (like real athletes) to go to Cramond for ice cream. As we cycled along the Roseburn path, we were regularly overtaken by other cyclists and I joked that it was rude of them to make us feel inadequate. We could see a young child and his dad cycling ahead in the distance and I said to The Prince that it would be really embarrassing if we didn’t manage to pass them.

But we did!

Me: “Target achieved. Well done us.”

The Prince: “Even if the only person we’ve passed is about 6.”

Me: “But we still did it so I’m taking it as a win.”

The Prince: “Absolutely. In a race of 4, those losers would be placed third and fourth!”

Me: “I mean, that kid was pedalling really fast.”
