Bracken bruising
Another Cairn conservation day today. Tim didn't join me as he has a very sore thumb at the moment, and this would have done it no good - a couple of hours of bruising the bracken at Bailey's Cleave on the Cairn. Exhausting, but strangely satisfying - and such a beautiful day for it. I enjoyed hanging out with the other volunteers and chatting as we worked. We finished up with three of us carrying an incredibly long length of edging boards back downhill between us (for repair and replacement at some point) - we would've looked quite comical if anyone had seen us!
Back home for lunch. Tim helped me rescue a few plants from behind our soon-to-be summer house (wild strawberries and an aquilegia - too lovely to be left to die behind it), and we did a few other jobs too (including trying to find the source of a damp patch downstairs). Tim spent a couple of hours sorting out our WiFi after we had to turn the power off briefly. Massive pain in the butt, but he got there in the end.
