Fish Supper
I travelled to the Leighton Moss reserve again this morning, but this time the salt marsh on Morecambe Bay. Another glorious day - I had a video chat first thing with my brother and sister, and the steam festival in her village has been cancelled on the second day as the fields are a mud bath with all the heavy rain down there. For a change the north is getting the better weather.
Three images. The main is a little egret tossing a little fish it has caught. A sedge warbler in the reeds singing. And an avocet inspecting her eggs. The avocets nest alongside the extremely raucous black headed gulls. They arrive first and the gulls then follow, I imagine the gulls provide some additional protection from predators.,
