Beech logs

Went into Forglen estate to investigate reports of new paths. There are indeed substantial new loose stone paths in the commercial forestry on the highest ground near the Aberchirder road. There's a lot of planting of tiny trees alongside all with green plastic sheaths. The landscape has that blasted heath look when major logging has happened - these woods were very much knocked about in the major windstorms and subsequential cleared. Found the mausoleum, turned back as drizzle started. Lots more walking paths to be found or revisited there.

Met and talked to the owner of the mill pond about the native tree and perennial wildflower planting he's doing. Four dogs rather discourage the birdlife; was actually jumped up on several times by different dogs during the afternoon.
