The island and the Oak Eggar Moth caterpillar
Strange to think the village is buried under all this mist and we are in the sunshine! It didn't last for long and evaporated very quickly.
Extra photo is of the Oak Eggar Moth caterpillar spotted on a rose stem in the jungle of our garden! Its official name is Lasiocampa Quercus. It feeds on bramble (in the photo!), hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel, to name a few. Its long hairs make it difficult for birds to eat. The moth is one of our largest - we once had two flying around the bedroom one night and they are large, heavy and with furry bodies....
