After a large breakfast I drove to Bolton Abbey and enjoyed a steady walk taking in Bolton Priory and The Strid. I had thoughts about going further but decided to be sensible.

I have a classic view of the Priory from across the river with the stepping stones but prefer the one above.

I thought it would be an ideal area for dippers. Didn’t see any but while scanning the river I spotted two mandarin ducks.
