... by the rugged appearance - he is warming his legs against my engine :-)  Always good to catch up with Iain Fitz and hear about his progress with recommissioning the BR Class 26 diesel, 26040, at Whitrope.
In the background the rails are being lifted and swapped for some points from Saughtree Station.
This is the scenic route back to Hexham from BMW Carlisle - it went pear-shaped at Carter Bar - the A68 was closed! (not an accident).
