White Glen, Hoy

A very high quality walk around Hoy's Ward Hill.  Sadly a total dearth of Meadow Pipits has to be reported (anticipated number 25).  However there were four Cuckoos, Stonechats, a plethora of Willow Warblers and the first Sedge Warbler of the year.  No trolley sightings; no nesting kazoos.  When we took a break CMC updated Willie ( in Fearn) with pics.  Willie manages the Easter Ross based Country Club HQ. 
On walking back into Hoy it would have been mad not to have supported the café for lunch. Tomorrow's forecast may see an early retreat to Orkney HQ.  This has been presaged by a cloud the very same shape as Mrs Gregor's granny.
