As there are around 2,500 types of moth in the UK, I could be entirely mistaken, but I think this is a mint moth. It had a wingspan of approx. 1cm. I've never seen one before, but they are daytime flyers, apparently.
Extra: An iridescent green insect (no idea what though) from earlier in the day.
