Droplet Flies
It rained all day. :( Nothing for it but to shoot droplet bugs. A damselfly and a bluebottle and something a bit more unusual. Until I saw the other fly on screen I thought it was a dung fly but as soon as I saw those eyes I knew it was a snail killing fly. I have got shots of these a few times in the past. I think this one is the stripe-backed snail killer, Limnia unguicornis. Unguicornis means horns like a hoofed mammal. It's well-named.
