Zaki was an incredibly friendly, enthusiastic and wise individual. His portrait really shows the character I encountered and experienced when I chatted to him.
He is a local community worker, helping disadvantaged individuals better their lives, whether it be due to drug abuse, violent crime, or any number of other social issues.
Here is a snippet of the conversation, at least what stuck in my head:
"What's the best thing about your job?"
"Seeing the results, after having spent time tackling peoples issue and problems - it's tough"
"Do you find it difficult at times?"
"Yes, but then anything worth doing generally is"
"True! And is there always a way to improve these peoples lives, or is it a lost cause sometimes?"
"In my opinion, there is always a way out. Sometimes it's very difficult to see, and it doesn't always manifest itself easily but I think there is always some change which is for the better"
"How did you become so wise?"
*Laughter*
