A quick flit between showers

It rained heavily all night and has only stopped briefly this afternoon and the bees made the most of it.

I have collected more than three dozen slugs from the lawn and around the pots, and found five big fat ones under the pot that I leave out for the hedgehog with its food.  Looks like the slugs have enjoyed last night's dinner.

Both greater spotted woodpeckers are the only birds visiting the sunflower heart feeder and they are soaked, poor things.  The great tit family left the nest box whilst we were away.

I have delayed doing the main wash as I would prefer to put it out on the line and tomorrow looks better.

This afternoon I drove over to a friend's house to drop in her birthday card as she's going away tomorrow evening.  We had a good natter over a quick cup of tea, reminiscing about our Cornwall holidays together.
