Four-spotted chaser

Morden Bog is a much nicer site than it sounds - it's a National Nature Reserve in Dorset very like the New Forest but on a much smaller scale. The bog surrounds a small lake which in turn is surrounded by heath and woodland. I saw a hobby and a woodlark and heard a Dartford warbler but didn't see it.

Every summer I resolve to learn the dragonflies, but am still not very good. This one is a four-spotted chaser libellula quadrimaculata
