A Kitkat Day
I do have a sneaky liking for KitKats, although I've long been aware of the Nestle red flag. But you might well wonder why it is my blip today (ignore the Oreos). When I heard news of a colleague being seriously ill on 23 April, I messaged the colleague who had been to see her to say that this had led me to eat two large chunky KitKats in succession to help me cope with the news. He passed that to our colleague and friend, CB, and she had been out to buy a packet in preparation for my calling round for coffee before work this morning. It was lovely to see her in evident good form, albeit struggling with some after effects, and we had a good laugh over the KitKats. And I munched one, as I'd done a workout and cycled up the hill since I'd had my breakfast, so I decided that was ok.
Later on, amongst meetings, I spied a visitor to the student encampment, which led me to believe that we might see some movement in the not too distant future. Might.
This afternoon, it was one of our regular school management meetings, and we had a really constructive discussion about some challenging issues we, and the other schools, are facing. Finally, I dialled into the last hour of Senate, which is held on a hybrid basis. That was less uplifting, but I survived it.
At home, Mr A and I toasted the calling of an election with some Bushmills he was gifted at the weekend. And organised a watch party for 4 July in Tain.
