Our little star!
What a wet miserable day it was, but despite the rain we had a great evening.
Ailie drove Chris, Katy and me to town for the play Nathaniel is in. We left in plenty time but hadn’t allowed for the traffic congestion due to road works on the Tyne Bridge - or that Bruce Springsteen was on in Sunderland. So we were stuck for 45 minutes, missing our early bird meal at Khai Khai. However the food was delicious and they were very quick which meant we made it to Live Theatre in time to see #3 daughter, Ella, Luke and some of their friends. We didn’t spot the Guardian reviewer who apparently was there.
I was very impressed with the play. It was gripping and powerful. Funny at first then darker and darker. The three actors were excellent. As was Nathaniel of course. He was natural in the part and appeared thrice with quite a lot of lines, as The Boy beating the bounds. He got pushed over and did a good fall. I’m so pleased it went well and that he enjoys it.
After the curtain call Ailie and Chris asked him for his autograph which he laughingly provided. Then he showed us his dressing room with his Pokémon cards and jigsaw and the cards we and #2 daughter sent.
The drive home in the dark and rain wasn’t pleasant. I’m so grateful to Ailie for taking us.
