Paddling pool

Finally, Joe's electrician found a gap in his diary coinciding with good enough weather.  It wasn't quite the dry sunny day Joe might have liked for paddling, but at least it wasn't pouring down.

By the end of the day, we had a functioning rill, that sounds and looks pretty good.  Still a lot of soft landscaping to do, but Joe's job is nearly done.

I planted the foxgloves down by the ditch, and a couple of pots of alliums in the pond bed.  And we made some decisions about some of the trees we still need/want to plant.
