Milestone

Every school has a sports day, with a whole day of fun exercise activities on the programme. This is not always self-evident for multiply handicapped children in special classes. The foundation where I volunteer today had a sports day for all children at the four branches for the first time in its five-year existence. A wonderful collaboration between the municipality, trainees from the sports accademy and the foundation resulted in a fantastic day for the children. The entire sports hall was made available, we had one on one guidance, all materials were taken out of the closet and this resulted in beautiful exercise tracks and giant swings and, above all, in assignments tailored to the children. I enjoyed the fun of the children, but also of the trainees who had not worked with this target group before and did a great job and had a lot of fun!
