A Day For Flying

When I was taking pictures of insects on the beautifully fragrant honeysuckle by the back door last evening, the blue tit chicks in the box that my nephew made were very vocal. By the time I checked on them this morning they had flown.

A beautiful silver y moth and a red admiral butterfly flew up as I walked through the grass.

A DC-3 flew over this afternoon, presumably on its way to North Weald. I haven't seen this one from 1941 before. Tim Savage, a warbird collector and publisher of Warbird Digest, acquired it to fly to Europe for the 80th anniversary of D-Day commemorations. His twenty-two-year-old son will fly the plane for part of the trip.
