The Great Tapestry Of Scotland
A rainy morning. My YB and.I were unsure what to do and eventually decided to visit Galashiels to see The Great Tapestry of Scotland. We had no idea.what to expect but it proved to be a wonderful choice and we absolutely loved it.
It consists of 165 different panels telling the history of Scotland from.the very beginning. It's a community project and over a hundred different groups throughout Scotland embroidered various panels. Over 300 miles of thread was used. The sewing was exquisite and there was a clear explanation of each panel.
Half way through we popped to the cafe for lunch and then went back to see the rest of the exhibition. Our parking space was just for three hours and we did feel as though we had to rush the last bit of the exhibition.
I honestly did not know what to expect when I went to see the exhibition. It costs £10.50 to get in which I thought seemed quite a lot of money before I went in but it was absolutely worth every penny. One of the highlights of my holiday and Mr YB enjoyed it also.
