First day of the holidays.

There has been so much rain that the train tracks on the West Coast of UK were flooded. 
We discovered the cancellation early enough that we could cut across to Edinburgh and get to London from the East. 
We finally rolled into Amsterdam at 23.15 after catching our first train at 9.30am in Glasgow. That's a long way. 
I think that is a catch with interail - you must travel out of your home country within one day.
