Fires and Beligum Biscuits
So, got up at a reasonable hour this morning and then went to pick up DC. He is a builder and has been helping B with my log burner installation.
Off to Mitre 10 for some essentials.
Home again to find B's mum's recipe for Belgium Biscuits (his favourite biscuit apparently).
Finally made them and he has happily gone off to share them with DC.
DC and Es are expecting their second baby in December. We are all so happy for them; can't wait for more teeny weeny feet to be pattering.
I'm sitting here with Cousteau, surrounded by dirt and mess and trying not to freak out about it! I'm just starting in little areas, clearing a space here and a space there. Soon we'll have the fire installed and we can have our house back. What's more, it'll be warm and cosy!
I'm cooking dinner for B and DC tonight, so had better get my roasties on.
Cousteau relaxed before our walk at the river. He was sick of being told to go away, so he took himself off to his quiet, happy spot in the hallway. I went and gave him pats and loves every now and then. He seemed pleased with that. B played 'boxes' with Cousteau and the empty fire boxes. Cousteau was even happier with that!
Let me just explain the Croc: Cousteau enjoys bringing a shoe, sock or some such thing to greet people. It's a gift of sorts. This Croc has been carried around the house as new people have turned up. Cousteau just doesn't get the problem with re-gifting!
Night all.
