Wheat

This is the first year that we have seen wheat planted in the front fields. Maryland pays farmers to plant cover crops during the winter to help control the flow of nitrogen into the Chesapeake Bay. Two weeks ago the farmer sprayed something on the crop to kill it. I guess he will be tilling it back into the soil. The Amish farmer at the cheese factory also killed his wheat crop.
