CALLIANTHE picta: Painted Indian Mallow

This exotic, ornamental shrub grows to
16ft (4.88m), with these glorious flowers
hanging all along the plant, like small lanterns. Amazingly, these flowers are edible raw or cooked; & get sweeter as time passes. As you might expect, bees & hummingbirds are drawn to
the nectar.

This plant would be great on a patio or balcony, against a wall, just as I saw it,
at a restaurant. It enjoys full sun, but
is not frost tolerant.

My friend & I are both researching where we
could locate this beauty. Plant lust strikes again.
