Restalrig railway path
In the endeavour to average at least 3kms a day walking during July, we tried out a new circular walk this morning, along the recently improved Restalrig Railway Path which then links to the also restored and improved Leith to Portobello path parallel to Seafield Road. Apparently it's just over 6kms in total, including a return along the Water of Leith, and it makes for a decently varied path with different things to see like allotments, views of the Firth, a cemetery and the Links. And the whole thing, especially on a Sunday morning when Jane Street and Manderston Street are quiet, is almost completely traffic-free.
On the topic of walking, I'm allowed to substitute some cycling instead. That is what I will be doing tomorrow morning.
