The ultimate trail
A few weeks ago Joanne completed the London Marathon; a few hours ago she finished an Ultra Marathon - 44 miles!
The Cornwall Classic Quarter challenges runners to run from Lizard Point (the southernmost point of England) to Lands End (the Western most tip) - running 90 degrees of the compass, hence the name.
The route follows the South West Coast Path and anyone who has walked any of this will tell you that it’s not easy - a lot of challenging hills and terrain. How she did this and for 44 miles I don’t know. We are all amazed by her.
Greg followed her all the way - by car and by bike, catching up with her at various points and sending us a running commentary. Sadly there was no live tracking but we managed to follow most of it by Google tracker.
I have added temporarily a few photos, including a map and a screenshot of the tracking I was following. I thought these might be of interest to those who know the area. I think Val will recognise every one.
