Male Greenfinch ( Chloris chloris )
Saturday so prepping the Lodge. I did take shots in my "walk to the bins" series. However being a "bird man" at heart I settled on this shot of the male Greenfinch.
Greenfinches have had a 70% population reduction since the 1960s. The recent Trichomoniasis among finches has hit them harder than most species. A timely reminder to keep feeding stations clean particularly if any sick birds have been seen. The common signs are a fluffed up listless bird often gaping and or having difficulty eating.
