A tale of East and West

The top photo is of East Cliff Beach, which was buzzing in the glorious weather. Meanwhile the other two photos are of an empty, cordoned off East Cliff Beach.

Tragically, last night at 11:42pm the police were called to the stabbing of a 34 and a 38 year old woman on Durley Chine Beach. The 34 year old was pronounced dead on the scene, the other is seriously injured. Both local (Poole) women. A 17 year old from Lancaster has been arrested.

So on what should be an amazing weekend for tourists and businesses on the front, ½ mile of beach is closed, and may remain so all week.

We walked to the Pier late morning, then took a bus to Ashley Road to see the new mega Makkah. They are locally based with 3 'mini-markets' selling Asian and other foods. The new store is absolutely massive, with an extensive gleaming butchers at the back (seeing a skinned sheep's head for sale, resplendent with eyes, made me shiver).

Mr B took the food purchases home, including a 4Lt can of Greek extra virgin olive oil. Usually ordered from Amazon, but the prices have almost doubled in a year.

Met him at 60 Million Postcards for an Aspall, then walked home. Was quite cool by then.
