Newer suburbs

Emergency blip, with a drive back to Arles and welcoming a larger group this afternoon.

This is the more recent part of the walled city of Arles - only a few hundred years old. 

The Amphitheatre in the centre dates from the 1st century, and it's fascinating to wander round, aware that the narrow streets are the result of a city built within the safe confines of ancient walls.
