Treasure Hunting
Avoiding the Bank Holiday masses around where I live, I headed over to Millom. On the beach investigating an Earth Cache I discovered a local detectorist. Here he is demonstrating for me the varying sounds made by his machine when they detect different metals. He had a found variety of coins from Roman to Edwardian as well as an old spear head. He was very happy to talk about the local history; recent and ancient and the local geology, which is what I had come down to study. A very interesting and fortuitous encounter.
