NO A DEER NO FEMALE DEER
Went over to Morecambe this morning to see Mum. It was lucky we went went we did down the M6 from Junction 36 to 34 because just an hour after we arrived the M6 at Junction 36 was at a standstill as there was a really bad accident there. I hope no-one on here was caught up in that or involved with it.
When we went down there we had come through pockets of heavy rain and spray but at that point the M6 was OK and dry, but of course it could have come up behind us. Just grateful we weren't caught up in it, but my heart goes out to anyone that was or even worse involved. Quite sobering.
We had a good catch up with Mum and some lunch. Then my brother and his partner arrived so we had a lovely catch up with them.
We drove back via The Prom but didn't stop as it was raining again. We stopped off at Deer Park layby on the A6 at Milnthorpe, but of course to day there were NO DEER there at all. Only two weeks ago they were all just under my favourite tree (see extras) and even a bit lower, very close to the river - I've never seen them there before and as we didn't stop at that time that was a golden opportunity missed. So we stop every week now. Not any wildlife at all, no sheep, ducks, birds, deer or anything - just me in my bright red raincoat getting wet but protecting the camera!!!!!
Heads up to everyone, if you haven't heard, there is going to a Dave Day on 8th June. This is a tribute to the wonderful Dave Myers, one half of the Hairy Bikers. There will be 10,000 motorbike travelling up from London to Barrow-in-Furness that day so the roads are going to be very difficult, so unless you want to be part of it try to avoid the areas they will be going. I'm guessing it will mostly by the M1, M6 and A590 affected but I'm not sure of the route.
It would be wonderful to see and to pay tribute but I think I'm going to stay put that weekend. As a lot of them are being put up locally and will be travelling back on the Sunday.
Just thought I'd let you know so you can avoid if you can or want to.
Do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
