A quintessentially English ...
... tea-room scene.
I'm always reminded that we traditionally start our holidays with a visit to Harrogate's famous Betty's Tea Rooms. Today was no exception, finding us lunching on the veranda of their branch overlooking the RHS gardens at Harlow Carr.
As soon as we arrived, I spotted this couple - self- selecting themselves, in their sun hats, for today's blip.
Betty's original tea-room was opened in Harrogate in 1919 by a Swiss confectioner, Frederick Belmont. There are now six branches, two in York, two in Harrogate, Ilkley and Northallerton.
