Spring Monsoon
Of course my Sunday was guaranteed to be a bit of a damp squib after Saturday's excitement.
A day of rain only added to the groaning sense of anticlimax. Certainly I am grateful the rain was forecast, that I looked at the forecast yesterday, and that I summoned up enough vavavoom last night to start mowing the lawn at 19.30.
The weather forecast also suggested we might have a couple of hours of respite from the deluge around lunchtime, so I wolfed down my lunch and was out the door like a scalded cat to get my daily 5 km done while it was dry.
I opted to walk into the town centre to visit the library and pick up a sugar/caffeine boost while I was there. The rain gods were on my side for once, and it stayed dry for 90% of my walk.
The Blip - at the risk of stating the obvious - is my reward for getting out there and doing it. Again.
21 days to go...
It is a virtual challenge and I received a nice email yesterday to inform me I completed stage 1, having reached Ein el-Hilweh refugee camp (in Lebanon).
The start was at the Sabra/Shatila refugee camps in Beirut. The finish is at the Rafa Crossing in Gaza.
