Purple Passion Flower
Some of our purple passion vines have begun to bloom over the past week. This photo was taken with a phone cam after a thunderstorm moved on.
I’ve always loved the vines because this gives a more tropical look to our back garden area, as do pop up thunderstorms.
Plus these vines do produce edible fruit and the leaves themselves are used and loved by Gulf Fritillary butterflies who lay eggs, and subsequently, their caterpillars have the leaves for food.
However, if we’re not careful, our porch screens can be covered in vines before you know it. They are very healthy growers.
